  • We have loved this church since our first day. We are new to the state and area, and were looking for a great home church. We visited a few lutheran churches in the area before coming to Messiah Lutheran. When my husband and I walked out of our first service here, we both looked at each other with a big smile. We love it here! Our daughter attends preschool here too- you couldn't ask for better than Messiah Lutheran Preschool. The teachers are amazing, the curriculum stimulating, and we know she is learning so much! We have found many ways to get involved as a younger family, and we are as active as we want to be in church activities. My husband sings in the choir and I am in handbells. The pastors and music director are amazing, kind, funny, and love the Lord. There is a growing community of young(er) families, and a wonderful MOPS group meets here as well. If you are looking for a growing, friendly church, come see us!

  • Pastors Peter and Kathy racist? Sounds like a bunch of baloney to me. Five years ago, they both gave up a Saturday with their own kids and traveled clear down to the Oregon coast to MARRY my husband and I (with no expectation of any compensation)… and guess what? We're a mixed race couple.

When a long-time pastor retires and new pastors come into an established congregation, there is bound to be conflict. A Lutheran church is full of conservative tradition and people don't always cope well with change, particularly when it comes to something very personal to them like their faith. So while the previous reviewer might have had perceived exclusion and walked away from the church with some bad feelings, the rest of their assertions sound like rumor and hearsay based on nothing but a desire for misguided retribution.

My family and I have been involved with Messiah Lutheran Church and known both pastors now for over 12 years. We don't have a lot of money to speak of, although the pastors would not have any reason to know our financial situation one way or another, let alone be influenced by it. We've never felt anything but warm welcome from everyone we've met in the congregation.

I also invite you to go ahead and try this church out sometime. I think you'll be honored to know Pastor Peter and Pastor Kathy and be glad to be part of such a welcoming church family.

  • Messiah is more than a church, it's a community of people who are truly dedicated to helping one another through the love and gifts given by Christ. They have a multitude of programs for all ages, including Godly Play for Sunday school students, adult bible classes, musical groups for all ages, Stephen Ministry counseling, as well as both contemporary and traditional services offers both Saturday night and Sunday morning. Coming to church is something look forward to when you attend Messiah.

  • Both of my children have attended preschool at Messiah Lutheran Preschool. Both were totally ready socially and academically for Kindergarten. They also learned empathy for others. I loved that science and art are incorporated daily in their instruction.

  • What a fantastic church! The pastors are fantastic (I don't know what the reviewer below was thinking... maybe it will be removed one day) I have been involved in many aspects of the church. Besides being a nearly life-long member, I am greatly involved with music, tech support, lighting of the candles, Vacation bible school, the preschool, Sunday School, and many other volunteer positions. I volunteer because I love the people, I love the church, and I love God. We are welcoming to all. If you are looking for a church home, you will be pleased by this amazing church and how it's people bring you closer to God.
